iPhone/iPad Initial Setup
1. Turn on your device
Press and hold the device's power button until you see the Apple logo. You will then see "Hello" in many languages. Follow the steps to get started.
When asked, choose your language. Then tap your country or region. This affects how information looks on your device, including date, time, contacts, and more.
"Set Up Manually" to continue.
2. Activate your device
You need to connect to a **Wi-Fi network** to activate and continue setting up your device.
Tap the Wi-Fi network that you want to use.
FYI, Connecting to Wi-Fi is the most important step in the setup process and is a must.
3. Set up Face ID or Touch ID and create a passcode
You can use face recognition or your fingerprint to unlock your device. Next, set a six-digit passcode to help protect your data. You need a passcode to use features like Face ID, Touch ID, and Apple Pay. If you would like a four-digit passcode, custom passcode, or no passcode, tap "Passcode Options."
4. Restore or transfer your information and data
Select Don't Transfer Apps & Data.
Please don’t choose any other option other than this. This is another most important step when setting up the iPhone.
5. Sign in with your Apple ID
Enter your Apple ID and password, or tap "Forgot password or don't have an Apple ID?" When you sign in with your Apple ID, you might be prompted for a verification code from your previous device.
6. Turn on automatic updates and set up other features
On the next screen, tap continue
Tap don’t share when you see App Analytics
7. Set up Siri and other services
Next, you'll be asked to set up or enable services and features, like Siri. You can also set it up later in Settings.
8. Set up Screen Time and more display options
Screen Time gives your insight into how much time you spend on your devices. You can also set it up later in Settings
9. View Selection
Choose a view as per your preference.
10. Phone is ready to use
You will see a message that your phone is ready to use. Just swipe it up and you see your home screen.
11. Guided Access mode
After you reach your home screen you will see that Guided Access mode and the phone will freeze for a few minutes. Be patient the phone is just loading few apps and getting ready for you to sign in. Once this process is complete you will see an app called Company portal opens automatically and asks you to sign in using your legacy division e-mail address.
Email address: user@upn.domain ( your legacy division e-mail address )
Once signed in, you will be presented with the steps required to complete enrollment, tap Begin.
Once it's done you will green checked the message and then tap done.
This will take you to the company portal page and you will be able to see apps.
12. Outlook Setup
Open the Outlook app from your phone and you will be able to see your legacy division e-mail address and at the bottom, you will see add account. Just tap add account and the email will be ready in a few minutes.
You will get the option to add another just choose maybe later.
Once the process is completed you will be able to all your mails generating and your calendar information.
13. Setting up Apple ID
Please go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and create an Apple ID using your lumenus e-mail. (If you don’t have an Apple ID)
Fill up the form and it will verify you through e-mail and text messages.
Once done Sign in on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Open the Settings app.
- ap Sign in to your [device].
Once signed in you will get a prompt to finish setting up your Apple ID. Its basically getting your address (use your office address) and payment information (select none)
**FYI, Please don’t use any kind of payment information other than none.**
